EXAMPLE NO 2.
Perforated coil shelters
Perforated coil shelters protect young trees denser than Pine against debarking or fraying. Mostly used for the protection of such tree species as Fir, Spruce and Larch.

Applied also for protecting deciduous species. Because of the shelter's shape, it is packed as conventional commercial segments into cartons to avoid damage in transport and to allow checking the amount of parcelled goods.

Prior to being inserted the shelter is cut into smaller segments, so it can function mechanically without constraining the trunk. Thus cut shelters can be easily inserted.

For the best possible protection, not risking a restrained growth of young trees, the shelter is cut it into 3-4 or more segments. When protecting Larch, it is recommended to cut the spiral into sections of 1.5-2 coils, i.e., into 7-8 parts.

Thus protected cultures have to be checked and if necessary the shelters moved.
